Getting Started

  • We design residential homes and commercial spaces, from full renovations to smaller transformations.

Most of our projects are based in Bucharest and throughout Romania, but we also collaborate remotely with clients abroad when the right conditions are in place.

  • That's perfectly fine — it's more common than you'd think.

Most clients don't come to us with a finished vision. Through conversation and the right questions, we help bring clarity to priorities, possibilities and what you're naturally drawn to.

The goal isn't to fit you into a style, but to create a space that feels like you, not like a mood board.

  • Everything starts with a conversation. Tell us about your project and the Studio HARPA team will guide you from there.

Process

  • Every project follows six phases — from the first conversation to implementation support. Each phase has clear deliverables, so you always know where you are and what comes next. See more details here.

  • It depends on the scope, but a full residential interior design project usually unfolds over several months.

Implementation can add several more months, depending on contractor availability and lead times.

We'll give you a realistic timeline estimate after our first conversation.

  • Because we don't skip phases.

The time spent understanding the space, documenting decisions and coordinating suppliers helps prevent costly mistakes during implementation. A project that's properly designed takes longer to prepare — and far less time to fix.

  • That depends on you.

Some clients enjoy every decision, while others prefer us to lead. We build feedback loops into every phase, so you'll always have the opportunity to react before moving forward.

  • You'll have access to a dedicated client dashboard where all project files are stored and where you can give feedback in real time. For scheduling and urgent matters, we use a dedicated WhatsApp group.

Budget & Scope

  • Our fees are based on the scope and complexity of each project rather than a fixed rate per square metre.

After an initial conversation, we'll prepare a clear proposal outlining exactly what's included, so you can make an informed decision before committing.

  • As a general guideline, we recommend planning a minimum of €800/sqm for a complete renovation and furnishing project in Romania.

This includes construction works, finishes, furniture, lighting and other elements required to bring the space to life. The exact budget depends on the scope, material selections and level of customisation.

  • Yes.

We help align the project with realistic budgets and can recommend materials, suppliers and trusted collaborators. The level of involvement varies depending on the project.

  • We work across a range of project scales. What matters most is that expectations are clear from the start.

If the scope and budget aren't a realistic fit, we'll tell you early rather than waste your time.

  • Sometimes.

It depends on the scope, timing and availability. The best way to find out is to tell us about your project and we'll help you understand whether we're the right fit.

Implementation

  • Yes.

We enjoy staying involved beyond the design phase and can support the implementation through site visits, contractor coordination and ongoing decisions. The level of involvement depends on the project and your needs.

Some clients prefer occasional support, while others choose a more hands-on collaboration throughout the process.

  • Yes.

In addition to design services, we also offer turnkey project management for selected projects.

This is a separate service from the design phase and involves a dedicated monthly Project Management fee. Depending on the level of involvement, we can coordinate contractors, suppliers, deliveries, schedules and key decisions throughout implementation.

The exact scope is tailored to each project and discussed separately after the design phase.

Not every project requires full project management, but when needed, we're happy to stay involved until the very last detail.

  • Absolutely.

While many of our projects include implementation support, we also work on design-only projects. This is especially common for international clients or for projects where local teams handle the execution.

Over the years, we've collaborated remotely with clients in Luxembourg, the Netherlands, the UK and the United States. A clear process and good communication make remote collaboration surprisingly smooth.

  • Absolutely.

Not everything has to be replaced. Whenever it makes sense, we integrate existing pieces and build around what already works.

  • When needed, we collaborate with architects and specialised consultants who can assist with permits and legal approvals. The exact scope depends on the project and local requirements.

Location

  • Yes.

We regularly collaborate with clients throughout Romania and abroad. Many of our projects involve remote collaboration, supported by a clear process and ongoing communication.

Most conversations happen either online or at our studio in the heart of Bucharest.
